Alternative investments for asset managers

Different perspectives

Alternative investments

Neither traditional nor conventional – innovative instead. Whether private equity or private debt, whether securitisation structures, hedge funds, equity investments, commodities or infrastructure, alternative investments have been gaining in importance over the last few years and have long since established themselves in the market as an asset class in their own right.

The advantages of alternative investments – namely portfolio risk diversification and potentially higher returns – should not be dismissed lightly. The asset class is also set to play a significant role in the move towards a sustainable economy, with sizeable investments in infrastructure and renewables already making a major contribution. It poses a challenge, though: the setup, administration and reporting of alternative investments is highly complex.

As your experienced structuring partner, we cover the entire service range for alternative investments. Institutional investors can expect ideas, solutions and a high level of commitment in the implementation of their alternative investments. The investment concept is executed via the Universal Investment platform. Depending on the project’s target, you can choose between fund domiciles in Germany, Luxembourg or Ireland.

Access to alternative investments

A one-stop shop

Direct or indirect, fund of funds or special purpose vehicles? The structures that allow access to alternative investments differ significantly – as do your demands as an investor. Tax and supervisory regulation, level of experience dealing with the asset class, planned total investment, compliance with Solvency II, investment regulation or internal procedures – these all need to be considered. Alternatives are multi faceted investments. Given this, we offer you all these services from a single source in our one-stop shop.

Experience is key

Team.Work: Our team has an ideal setup to meet the needs of institutional investors and asset managers. What makes our team stand out is their innovative drive, their feel for marketable products and specific structures, as well as their aptitude for dealing with regulatory requirements.

What Holds the World Together – Investing in Infrastructure with Private Equity

Road and rail networks need to be expanded and upgraded, city centres should become less car-dependent, and efficient data centres are crucial for the future viability of an economic area. In addition, there is a growing need for senior housing, nursing homes, and significant investments are required in the education system, such as schools and kindergartens. Clearly, substantial investments in infrastructure will be necessary over the coming years, as the energy transition also requires solid and long-term financing. To achieve the European Union’s goal of making Europe greenhouse gas-neutral by 2050, private funds must supplement public investments in building and expanding infrastructure.
